A Beautiful Couple and an Elegant Riverton Yacht Club Backdrop

An extraordinary wedding set at the Riverton Yacht Club is a good place to start in getting caught up on our posting!  So stay tuned for the rest of the 2010 goodness which about to grace this blog!  We’ve been absolutely blessed & honored to work with so many wonderful couples  & families in 2010 & 2011 and we just can’t wait to share the images!

First up are Jen & Sal.  Yes, they had an oh-so-fabulous wedding!  I think my favorite memory was Jen & Sal’s perfectly-executed first dance. The love & teamwork that went into every step was a sight to see!  I’m sure you guys were a little nervous, but we couldn’t tell—move over Fred & Ginger!  Jen & her dad also burned up the dance floor to the crowd’s delight.  Just look at them!  The night ended on a sentimental note when Jen began crying (happy tears) while she and Sal watched the wedding day slideshow we made for them.  The day was perfect.

Congratulations again Jen & Sal!

  • Great imagery guys! Love the hair light on the dance images; strobes or video light?

  • Scott, How is the newest addition to the Spitzer family?
For the dancing shots I use a Speedlight on a light stand at waste level fired with a pocket wizard. I usually zoom the head to 135 so it doesn’t hit to much of the floor and point it up slightly. Start at 1/4 power and adjust till you get a rim light on your assistant before the room starts filling up. If no assistant then as the room fills use the people crossing the dance floor to get to there seats. In the first dance shot above you can see Lola, she keeps the stand so its directly behind the couple. Most times it makes a perfect rim light and you have to just hit it right to get a lens flair. The first time I had Lola near the light she kept moving it back behind the couple as I was trying to get a flair… it was funny. I also fire a flash on camera bounced over my shoulder as fill. Just have to mess with it till you get the balance that looks good. Ohh and have a second body with just a bounce flash, because the pocket wizards like to quit at the most inopportune time ;)

  • Looking at the photos again from my wedding bring (happy) tears to my eyes. Everything was so wonderful and these pictures captured the emotions of the day exactly as I remember feeling them. Thank you again for being one of the best parts of our day. Your work is outstanding and so are both of you!
